Gender Neutral Clean Skin Care Line for Kids / Tweens / Teens

Founder & Owner:
Keri Bougie started her career in corporate finance working for several fortune 500 companies and transitioned to working from home when she began having children in 2011. 

Fast forward 9 years, now with five kids, four of which are all in elementary school. Having moved to sunny California in 2015, Keri became more aware of the need for kids to protect and take care of their skin, beginning at an earlier age. Through her research into skincare, she realized that in general, children are not taught at an early age to develop healthy skincare habits. And while there were a lot of skincare products for babies and for tweens/teens, there was little-to-no skincare products targeted toward the age group of older toddlers to tweens.

Through much research, care, and trial and error, Keri worked hard to develop a "clean" kid/tween/teen-formulated skincare line, that truly caters to this ever-important age group. The development of "SoChok Skinlove" is meant to promote and encourage healthy skincare habits in kids from an early age, setting them up for future healthy skincare habits well into their futures.

Products:
All of our products are free of: parabens, phthalates, sulfates, glycols, formaldehydes, mineral oils, nanoparticles, sunscreen chemicals, and artificial/synthetic parfums or fragrances. Our manufacturing partners are Organic Certified, cGMP Certified, and FDA regulated. Our products are never tested on animals and we are intolerant of animal cruelty. pH Balanced - All of our products are produced to achieve a perfectly balanced mid-range pH, so as to optimally protect against free radicals, environmental pollutants, and seal in hydration. 

Packaging:
We partner with suppliers that have a shared commitment to environmental responsibility.  We strive for all of our packaging to be eco-friendly and recyclable/sustainable.

Our packaging for our Foaming Facial Cleanser, AM Moisturizer & Sunscreen, and PM Calming Moisturizer are 100% recyclable - an attribute that other cosmetic companies are aspiring to accomplish.  This particular packaging is at the forefront of cosmetic packaging sustainability, being made of a mono-material, meaning that each component of the bottle and pump is 100% PP (polypropylene plastic) - a material that is optimal for recycling.  Our pumps are airless (meaning air is not re-admitted into the product following product fulfillment, such that the product retains its’ full integrity and freshness). 

The pump functionality of this airless packaging may result in air-bubbles being trapped within the container when the packaging is initially filled with actual product.  Therefore, the pumping with no resulting product being dispensed is a result of these "air" pockets being expelled . . . please just continue to pump a few more times and this air will be expelled.  Sometimes it may take 5-7 pumps at first, to begin to have product be pumped out; this is a result of air being trapped inside the container from when it is first filled with product.  While we can understand that this might be frustrating at times, we hope you can understand our focus with this select packaging is to be very intentional with regards to SoChok's carbon footprint.
